Capacity and Mass

  • Units to capacity are used to measure liquids or gases and the containers that hold them
  • 1 t = 1 000 kg (1 kg = 0.001 t)
  • 1 kg = 1 000 g (1 g = 0.001 kg)
  • 1 g = 1 000 mg (1 mg = 0.001 g)

Measurement

  • 10 000 cm2 = 1 m2



Volume

  • Units of volume are used to measure the space an object takes up
  • 1 cm3 = 1 mL
  • 1 m3 = 1 000 L
  • 1 000 cm3 = 1 L
  • 1 000 mL = 1 L
  • 1 m3 = 1 000 000 cm3 
  • 1 m = 100 cm
  • 1 cm = 10 mm
