Hello persons!
I made a blog with music that you can listen to in class. If there is any music without lyrics you would like me to put on, please just comment on this post and I'll put some of them on the music blog. The link to it is here:

Please keep in mind it is a work in progress. Remember, any requests for songs to put on the music blog, please comment on THIS post. Thanks!

This Week's Math POW
Hints
Hint 1 - a) How many cubic mm equal one cubic cm?
Hint 2 - b) If the 24 mp3 players were packed in three stacks of 8, what would be the box dimensions?
What other sets of stacks might work?
Hint 3 - c) What are the lengths of the sides of each of the boxes you designed in part b)? How
many pairs of identical sides are there?
Extension:
Hint 1 - If the 24 mp3 players were packed vertically in three rows of 8, what would be the box

If you want the answer sheet , go to http://www.worksheetworks.com/pdf/d30/a3ba6af7a8c34/WorksheetWorks_Calculating_Volume_1.pdf

Things due on Monday
Hi people!
Just so you know, trip forms are due on Monday, and if weather permits, Carnival will be on Monday. The carnival will be mostly outside, so dress accordingly. The math test will also be on Monday, so study hard!
Have a good weekend!

Math Quiz Review for Tuesday, February 25, 2014
~ Volume= L. x W. x H.
Ex:
a rectangular prism has measurements of
3 cm (length), 4 cm (width), and 7 cm (height)
To get the volume of this rectangular prism, I multiply:
3 cm X 4 cm X 7 cm = 84 cm3
The volume of this rectangle is 84 cm3
~ How to figure out which side of a prism is the length, width, height:
Length: usually longer than width
Width: usually shorter than length
Height: the line that is sticking up in the air
~Area: To get the area of something, you multiply one side by the other
Ex:
5cm >
7cm
to get the area= 7cm X 5 cm= 35 cm2
~How to get TSA (Total Surface Area):
(W x H) + (H x L) + (L x W) x 2 = TSA (Total Surface Area)
Ex: Example 1
This
cube has six congruent faces, each with a length and width of 3 cm.
Area
of one face = 3 x 3 cm = 9 cm2
Surface
area = 6 sides x 9 cm2 = 54 cm2
|
~ 1,000 mL = 1 liter
~ 10 mm = 1 cm
~ 100 cm = 1 meter
~ 10,000 cm2 = 1 m2
~ 1,000 grams = 1 kilogram
~ 100 mm2 = 1 cm2
~ 1mL = 1 cm3
~ 1 m3 = 1,000 L
~ 1,000,000 cm3 = 1 m3
~ 1 m3 = 1,000 L
~ 1,000,000 cm3 = 1 m3
